One-Zero 2017

October 17

| €195

One Zero, the international content event looking at the future of sport is returning to Dublin.

The 2017 event will take place at Croke Park on October 17th and will once again draw an audience from Ireland and around the world that is interested in how sport is developing in terms of performance, innovation, media and fan engagement.

Last year’s inaugural One Zero event brought together an audience of 700 to hear from over 30 leading lights from the worlds of sport, performance and technology.

These included Conor McGregor’s manager John Kavanagh, Rugby World Cup winning manager Sir Clive Woodward, Shane Lowry, Skins Chairman Jamie Fuller and US Olympic Team Head of Technology and Innovation Mounir Zok.

The event caused plenty of heat with the initial invitation to cyclist Lance Armstrong to participate in a no holds barred interview about his past and the future of his sport.

Armstrong withdrew from the event the day before he was due on stage following reaction to an interview he had conducted on Newstalk’s Off The Ball programme in the run up to the event.

This year’s event is moving to Croke Park, recognised as a stadium of the future, and will once again involve a dynamic line up of opinion formers, innovators and thought leaders looking at how sport is developing in the present and the future for players, teams, media and fans.

There will be a strong international focus on the speakers and those attending. Last year’s event drew an audience from Ireland and the UK as well as Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Australia.

“One Zero has created a leadership event for sport in Ireland which has never previously existed,” said co-founder of One Zero and founder of Sport for Business Rob Hartnett.

“It would have been easier to fold our tent after the Armstrong reaction last year but sport is about resilience and we have created something which drew massive positive reaction from around the world.”

“We want to build on that this year and the move to Croke Park will enable us to explore elements of how sports stadia and media are constantly developing new means of reaching out to fans.”

“We will be announcing exciting speakers across a wide range of sports and areas of interest within leadership and technology over the coming weeks and months, and look forward once again to welcoming the world of sport to our home town in October.”
