One of the busiest fortnights of the Irish golfing calendar begins this week with the Flogas Irish Women’s and Girls’ Amateur Open taking place at Co. Louth.

Next week sees The Island in North County Dublin host the Flogas Irish Men’s Amateur Open.

Earlier this year Flogas signed a two-year deal meaning that the Louth-based company will now sponsor both events alongside the Irish Mixed Foursomes.

“We are delighted to welcome players from all over the world over the coming fortnight to these Flogas Amateur Opens,” said Golf Ireland CEO Mark Kennelly.

“Players from 15 countries on three separate continents will compete at both Co. Louth and The Island, and we look forward to some excellent action at both courses.”

“On behalf of Golf Ireland, I’d like to thank Flogas for their support of these two flagship events, along with their support of the Irish Mixed Foursomes.”

“We’re delighted to be the first-ever sponsor of the Women’s and Girls’ Irish Open under Golf Ireland and to continue our sponsorship of the Men’s Irish Amateur Open,” added John Rooney, Managing Director of Flogas Ireland.

“As a company that is committed to a culture of inclusion and diversity at every level of our business, we want to reflect that ethos in our sponsorships wherever possible.”

“The month of May will see some of Ireland’s most talented golfers, joined by players from around the world take to these two outstanding courses. We wish all the participating players the very best of luck.”

The Baltray venue will host the Flogas Irish Women’s and Girls’ Amateur Open from 6-8 May. The Island GC in Dublin will welcome the Flogas Irish Men’s Amateur Open for the first time between 12-15 May.
