RadioThis weekend’s GAA Congress could call a halt to the opportunity for the GAA to negotiate media deals that reflect the modern age.  It would be a backward step based on holding on to what has traditionally been the case rather than continuing to walk to the future.

It’s not so much whether it should be Sky or anybody else. It’s no reflection on RTE Sport who have and will continue to cover the most important moments of the Championship season.

It’s merely a marker for where the GAA sits in a rapidly changing world of broadcast coverage where the very definition of broadcast and ‘free to air’ is changing all the time.
