INDI Nourish weekThe Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI) has launched Nourish Ireland Week with the aim of providing the general public with free, un-biased, evidence based information on nutrition.

This is clearly of interest to everyone in sport at any level and the Institute has recognised this through using international Rugby star Andrew Trimble to help launch the event.

Running from 9 to 14 June, the campaign incorporates free talks on topics ranging from weaning babies to managing Type 2 diabetes and improving performance for sports enthusiasts.

The sports related talk on sports nutrition for teenagers takes place in Dublin’s Clyde Court Hotel on Monday, June 9th and at the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork on Thursday, June 12th.

“As a professional sports player nutrition plays a huge part in my training and fitness regime,” said Trimble.

“Understanding what my nutritional needs are is critical to my performance but everyone’s needs are different as they go through life. I’m supporting the INDI’s Nourish Ireland Week because I know how important it is to take care of your body from a physical and psychological perspective.”
