RTÉ Two will have live coverage on Sunday as the Ireland Women travel to Cumbernauld outside Glasgow to take on Scotland.
Victory will give Ireland the Triple Crown and the possibility of a second RBS 6 Nations Championship in the last three years.
RTE’s support of the Women’s game throughout has been very strong, especially on radio with Game On 2FM giving consistent and entertaining coverage in preview and live at matches.
Transferring that support to TV is what the team deserve and what the national broadcaster has always stated as an ambition when time and other obligations on both sides allows.
Daire O’Brien will be joined in studio by former Ireland Women’s international Rosie Foley and 2013 Grand Slam-winning head coach Philip Doyle.
The commentary from Broadwood Stadium will come from Ryle Nugent and former prop Fiona Coghlan, who captained the girls in green to the title two years ago.
The game kicks off at 1pm with coverage on RTÉ 2 HD and the RTÉ Player from 12.45pm.
As things stand, to win the title the Ireland Women would need to beat Scotland by 21 points more than France beat England by in their clash or, if England win, beat Scotland by any margin.
The Scotland Women v Ireland Women match rounds off a busy weekend of live rugby on RTÉ Television with a live triple header of the final day of RBS 6 Nations men’s action on Saturday as the Championship goes down to the wire.
