
This funding is critical to most sports in terms of providing money for development and employment of central staff and resources. The high performance grants announced in May showed a small year on year increase though today’s announcement is expected to see a reduction in funds for most sports due to government funding cuts.
This will force most governing bodies to reconsider their commercial attractiveness to business partners.
Sport for Business will shortly announce details of a commercial programme for National Sports Governing Body members to help target specific sectors and companies with commercial deals.
