FIFA have somewhat dominated the global news agenda over the past ten days and that shows no sign of stopping. Sport rolls on though and this weekend sees the start of the Women’s World Cup Finals in Canada.
No Irish team involved but Sue Ronan and her group of players are working on that for four years time in France. For now though it will still be a great tournament, with more TV coverage, and innovation than ever before.
In simple terms more people will see Women’s soccer played at an elite level than ever before. Our confident belief is they will love it. So that when Ireland qualify next time round the parity of esteem that half the world’s population deserves when it comes to sport will be a significant number of steps closer.
