coach_players_mobileIrish technology service Teamer is one of the first consumer applications to integrate with Apple Pay as part of a new team payments service within its iOS app.

The service is now being used in 50 countries around the world and has over 2.3 million registered users, many of them in Ireland and the UK where growth came first and has been strongest to date.  It is currently expanding in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The Teamer Payments system launched in January of this year in partnership with another Irish led company, payments provider Stripe.  It gives clubs the capacity to collect money for team subs and club memberships through the teamer system that many are using for notifications.

The use of a dashboard system means that parents and players can be registered for multiple teams across a variety of sports and receive push notifications for matches, session or promotions.

“We believe that leading edge web and mobile apps can solve many of the issues that exist in the grassroots sports market today,” said Robert Mattar, CEO of Teamer.

“Helping teams and clubs organise and collect funds are two big issues that can be improved significantly in community sport.”

“With the launch of Apple Pay within Teamer’s iPhone app, we want to continue to lead the way in delivering fantastic solutions into the sports market.”

“The move to online and mobile payments will inevitably accelerate over the coming years,” added Teamer Commercial Director Ian O’Sullivan.

“Clubs no longer want to collect cash and cheques because of the time it takes and the risks involved.”

“Teamer Payments is the simple, cost effecting and secure solution that many clubs have been searching for.”
