Fitzers Catering, who supply many of Ireland’s racecourses and greyhound stadia with their food and beverage offerings have recorded a €633,000 loss for the year end in newly filed accounts.

It also holds the contracts to supply the National Convention Centre in Dublin and the Titanic Centre in Belfast.

Business dropped at the firm from €10.3 Million in 2013 to €4.76 Million in 2014 and costs have had to be slashed as a result.

The company has been trading since the 1980’s and still has a substantial level of retained profits and a cash pile of over €1 Million and is not believed to be in trouble as a result of the latest figures.

The previous year had marked an increase in profits of 36 per cent in what can be a notoriously seasonal business.
