Ireland Wales U20 RugbyThe Irish U20 Rugby team pulled off one of the greatest ever comebacks in sport yesterday to claim an opening victory at the World Championship in Manchester.

Down 17-0 after 20 minutes to the reigning Grand Slam Champions Wales it looked all over for Nigel Carolan’s side at the Manchester City Academy Stadium in their first fixture.

Back in Dublin team sponsors PwC were hosting an induction day for their 128 summer interns hoping to show them what a positive experience it was to work for the firm.

For a major accountancy practice and management consultancy to be associated with such a strong turnaround is the stuff of marketing dreams.

For those interns who stayed on the premises to watch events unfold during the game this was a start to a work placement that would beat most and it raises the profile of the team who now head into a crunch game against the All Blacks on Saturday starting at 1330.

The All Blacks are sponsored by AIG whose offices in Dublin are 100 metres up river from those of PwC and within which there may be some friendly local rivalry over the coming days.

Wales are one of three teams at the Championship who are unsponsored with BMW adorning the shirts of England and Australia, Visa that of Argentina and BT that of Scotland.
