
It will be in addition to his current media roles with BT Sport and Newstalk and will involve working with brands to see how they leverage sport to grow their brands.
Much of the work initially may be in London but O’Driscoll is also looking forward to working in the US where his profile would be lower but in which market rugby is maintaining a surge in growth that could well lead to a bid to host a Rugby World Cupo as early as 2027.
O’Driscoll is a key player in Ireland’s bid to host the tournament in 2023 and this latest addition to his portfolio of interest will remain unaffected.
Who knows it may be an opportunity for the Six Nations to turn to an old warrior to help in the search for a new sponsor after the news of RBS’ departure after 2017…
