Mags Darcy Camogie
The Camogie Association and Liberty Insurance are building up to next month’s All Ireland Final off the back of strong TV viewing figures for the semi finals played last week.

The two games were televised live on RTÉ Sport for the first time and attracted a peak audience of 251,000 viewers on Saturday afternoon, August 13th.  With Olympics Coverage holding sway on RTÉ2 the coverage switched to the main channel and will also have been boosted by the broadcast afterwards of the All Ireland Hurling Semi Final Replay between Kilkenny and Waterford.

Regardless it was a great showcase for the sport and gave an opportunity to get to know the teams and the players from Cork and KIlkenny who will be lining out on September 11th.

The average audience for the two games was 156,000 which an RTÉ spokesman described to Sport for Business as “very strong”.

The social media build up continues apace today when Liberty Insurance will feature Mags Darcy in a Live Twitter Q&A at 1pm.  The Wexford Goalkeeper who returned from injury to reclaim her place this year has never been afraid to speak out and will be familiar under the helmet as an analyst on the Sunday Game.

We will be tuning in to the chat and will bring you a sample of the questions and answers that emerge through our own twitter feed @SportforBusines and via the hashtag #SupportherSport
