Basketball Ireland is looking to appoint a new media and Communications Manager to tell the story of the sport to as wide an audience as possible.
The role will be based at the National Stadium in Tallaght and will mix expertise and experience in traditional media relations including the writing of game reports with a talent for social media and ‘an ability to lead and innovate in the area of live streaming of games and events.’
It has been a strong year for the sport in Ireland playing host to the Congress of the European Basketball Federation and entering teams to international competition for the first time in a number of years.
The senior Mens and Women’s teams finished fourth and second respectively at the European Small Nations Championship in July and there will be continued development of international teams over the coming years.
UCD Marian’s Fran Ryan has been appointed as the new Chairman of Basketball Ireland, taking over from Jackie Dunne.
