Physical fitness and activity has long been recognised as having a beneficial impact in improving mental fitness and our major sporting bodies are conscious of their responsibility in promoting campaigns and activities that help players and people within their communities to cope.
Through this week we will highlight a number of the campaigns that are making a difference and we will join IRUPA and Zurich on Wednesday night for the latest public panel discussion of the Tackle Your Feelings mental wellbeing campaign.
The panel will feature Ireland and Leinster Prop and Tackle Your Feelings Ambassador, Jack McGrath, who recently came forward to tell his own personal story about the impact of his brother’s death by suicide.
Irish International Hannah Tyrrell will also be involved. She has spoken candidly about her struggle with self-harm and bulimia.
The Ambassadors will be joined on the panel by Munster and Ireland rugby legend, Marcus Horan, who will MC the event.
Dr Eddie Murphy, Clinical Psychologist and Tackle Your Feelings advisor will add to the discussion by providing practical advice as to how attendees can proactively manage their mental wellbeing.
