Two time Olympian Kieran Behan, Ireland’s first female Olympic gymnast, Ellis O’Reilly and European Junior Silver Medallist, Rhys McClenaghan were were the stars of the show at the first JLT Gymnastics Ireland National Awards Ceremony held in Dublin at the weekend.

It marks the end of a strong year for the sport with 20,000 members now within the organisation and double Olympic representation achieved in Rio for the first time.

Awards are always a time to look forward as well as back and the platform that has been built bodes well for what promises to be a year of further transformation in 2017.

That will be the first year where Gymnastics will be an ‘anchor’ tenant of the new National Indoor Arena, rising quickly from the ground at the National Sports Campus and due to open its doors in January.
