Later this week in the Phoenix Park one of Dublin’s largest corporate participation events will unveil a major new sponsor.

The Dublin Staff Relay has been running since 2012 and has a capacity this year of 4,000 runners for the event taking place on 25th May.

The new sponsor is a major international company, a long term supporter of Sport for Business and with a strong presence in Dublin, Cork and Belfast. There is the potential to expand the Relay to match that of Copenhagen which now takes place over an entire week.

The Relay has been running since 2012 and has developed a very strong core of support from within Dublin’s business community. It involves five members of staff each running a 5KM circular route through the Phoenix Park and through the tented village where supporters and rival firms are gathered to enjoy the night.

It is managed by Pierce O’Callaghan of Savvy Sports and Eamon McGloughlin of Fortitude Sports Management who have high hopes for the future development of the race. The Dublin Staff relay was presented as one of the sponsorship opportunities that might appeal to Irish businesses at a Sport for Business 20/20 event, a new version of which we will be announcing shortly for later in the spring.

We will reveal later this week who the new sponsor is and what they will bring to the party.
