Michael Conlan’s first pro fight from the world famous Madison Square Garden, New York will be shown exclusively live on BoxNation, the new channel launched on the eir Sport pack last week and available to eir broadband customers for free and to subscribers on all platforms with the exception of Virgin Media.
RTÉ Sport will be carrying a review of the fight in a dedicated programme on Saturday night.
It will be part of a major weekend for eir Sport who will carry live coverage on Friday as well of the Bank of Ireland Leinster and Clayton Hotels Munster Senior Cup Finals in schools Rugby and follow that with coverage of the Legends Rugby match featuring Ronan O’Gara and paul O’Connell at the RDS.
The Kerry v Dublin Allianz Leagues game on Saturday night could be a record-equalling night as Dublin seek to equal Kerry’s long standing record of 34 games undefeated in the League and Championship. The game is a sell-out in Tralee and the only place to see it live is on eir Sport.
“This St. Patrick’s weekend will really showcase the fantastic array of content we have available to sports fans,” said Glen Killane, MD of eir TV & Sport.
“Having Michael Conlan’s first pro fight exclusively live is a real coup for BoxNation, and it is fitting that Ireland’s number one sports broadcaster will be showing one of Ireland’s top athletes in action.”
“Plus, we have a really strong rugby line up as we continue our commitment to showcase Schools rugby to a national audience with finals of the Leinster Schools Senior Cup and Munster Schools Senior Cup.”
“Finally, we get to honour the late Anthony Foley as we show the Ireland Legends v England Legends live from the RDS. It’s going to be a really exciting weekend for eir Sport and we hope our customers enjoy the sports on show”.
