
Heading out from a new start point outside the Dublin Convention Centre the runners took in a circuit that included the IFSC, a loop around the Spire and O’Connell Street, Ringsend and the South Docklands.
This is a massive organisational challenge undertaken by Dublin City Council, Athletics Ireland and Titan Experience.
Virgin Media will have been pleased by the media buying which captured shelters and street posters along the route while the technical t-shirts will remain much in evidence on city streets throughout the summer.
This is the first major race of the year in Dublin with the PwC sponsored Staff relay Series in the Phoenix Park on May 25th, the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon on June 5th, the Affidea Rock’n Roll Half Marathon in August, the Grant Thornton Team Challenge in September and the SSE Airtricity Dublin City Marathon in October.
The runners bags featured material from secondary sponsors including FlyeFit, Deep RiverRock, Linwood Seeds and Nature Valley.
They were collected over the weekend from Trinity College, keeping a good city centre feel to the whole event.
