The group were given pointers on how to manage and make best use of their own social media and how to stand out in a networking environment, though the size of many of the young players would give them something of an advantage their regardless.
There was a fascinating run though and immersive exercise on personality types which left management pondering how they could best use the information to form groups within training and bonding.
Doubling Up
The day rounded off with a session where PwC brought together three of their own stars in the business who are doubling up as stars in sport to tell how they manage their time and the juggling of different aspects of their lives.
Cian O’Sullivan has four All Ireland Medals in his locker but he still has to manage a Tax Practice team for his living and he shared insight on how he stays ahead at work, by getting to the office early in the morning and leading by example on getting work done in optimum time rather than having to sweat over leaving on time for training sessions.
Ruari Moore is still studying for exams and being part of the Louth football team that has secured back to back promotions in the Allianz Football League.
He was working out in the on site gym as the Irish team did a tour of the building and admitted to standing alongside heavier weights than he might have been lifting before the lads came through the door.
Compete
Rebecca Barry is the newest of the three to join the company and only weeks after joining she had to ask for three weeks off to compete for Ireland in their successful Hockey World League 2 triumph in Malaysia.
Based in Limerick and playing her club hockey in Cork means an even longer round trip to training for Barry and she too is a shining example of how to get stuff done without ever feeling that she was owed any favours.
Managing Partner Fergal O’Rourke rounded off that final session by paying tribute to the three staff members, whose business talents he said were taken as read in being part of his team but who were a huge asset in building a strong team ethic within the business.
It was a great example of how the company, as sponsor of the U20 team and the IRFU Development pathway can integrate the partnership to provide a winning result for both sides.
It was a pleasure to be part of the day conducting the interviews with the three stars.
