Top Oil has expanded its sports sponsorship portfolio by announcing that it is to become the official sponsor of the National Ladies Showjumping Championship.

The series runs from now through to September and will take in events at all of the major summer shows in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  These will include at the Tattersalls Show in Meath and the Balmoral Show in July.

The final show will take place at Whites Cross Charity Show, Curraheen, Cork, on the 3rd of September.

All in all there will be twenty events in the series and it makes sense for a national fuel supplier and motorway services operator to be front of mind among such a road based and mobile, in a physical sense, community.

It is also tapping into a serious global trend of focusing on Women in Sport to gain a specific foothold in sport at a lower cost of entry.

“Top Oil is proud to sponsor Showjumping Ireland’s Ladies Championship for 2017,” said Gerard Boylan, Group Chief Executive of Top Oil.

“As a leading Irish family owned home heating and fuel provider, we are committed to supporting local communities, and this partnership reflects that commitment.”

“The development of both horses and athletes in a competitive arena is an important part of our heritage in Ireland and we are proud to be associated with Showjumping Ireland. We wish all the teams involved in competing this year the very best with the Championships.”

“We are delighted to have such a well-known Irish brand coming on board to support the Ladies Championship this year,” added Michael Hennessy, Regional Chairman of Showjumping Ireland.

“Top Oil is an established Irish brand and recognised as a partner of communities across Ireland, and so we are proud to have the support of Top Oil for the coming year.”

Top Oil’s relationship with sport extends across partnerships with Connacht Rugby, Sligo Rovers and Leinster GAA where it supports the Schools Programme of competitions.  It also backs local clubs, is proud that it has had no fewer than eight All Ireland winners on the company books down the years and is a member of Sport for Business.
