
The first details of the new initiative, which will create one of the single richest night’s in the greyhound racing world, were announced by Agriculture Junior Minister Shane McEntee at the track on Thursday evening.
A number of sponsors have already been approached but no details were forthcoming yet on who they might be.
Among the major sponsors currently involved in the sport are Ladbrokes, Betfair, Red Mills and Kerry Group.
The Irish Greyhound Board recently reported good growth in the numbers attending tracks and signed an international rights deal with English Satellite broadcaster SIS.
