It didn’t work out as we would have hoped for Ireland but that is sport and there are always winners and losers. What the Women’s Rugby World Cup did deliver for us though was a tournament that showed off our unquestioned ability to host events of real scale and world importance.

It also delivered a Final that was spectacular in its shifts of momentum, electric in terms of the speed and skill on display and a fitting tribute to all the players, the volunteers and the management team that helped to put on this tournament and put Ireland firmly on the map as a host nation.

As a team Ireland can pick themselves up, learn from what went wrong and get back on the pitch for the next round of fixtures.

As a sport, Rugby can feed off the enthusiasm for the game that was delivered throughout the build up to the tournament and at the games in Dublin and Belfast.

As fans we can admire the skill on show throughout and especially in the final. If you missed it on Saturday night it is well worth taking a look here at the show which New Zealand and England put on…

Sport for Business has been proudly supportingĀ the build up and the success of the Women’s Rugby World Cup over the past three years.

The Lessons we can learn from what it delivered will continue to form part of our daily coverage of the commercial world of Irish sport and as part of our Game Changer Conference on Women in Sport on November 30th.

What could we do together for your organisation?
