Mick O’Keefe and his sports team at Pembroke Communications received three awards for their work in the sporting sector. One was for work with Paralympics Ireland on the London 2012 Paralympic Games preparations. The second was with Dublin GAA on the Spring Series in the Allianz National League. The third was in the Digital and Social Media Category for work on the Bord Gáis Energy U21 All Ireland Hurling Championships.
Bus Eireann won the best Sponsorship award for its support of the National Women’s League in soccer while Fleishman Hilliard were also on stage for their work on the Solheim Cup.
That four different sports in five different categories should feature so prominently is an indication of the importance of sport as a marketing channel for Irish business. The need to connect with consumers, staff and opinion formers on an emotional level is served better by very few other areas and Sport for Business will continue to highlight those companies and sporting organisations that are doing it well so that all might learn.
Congratulations to all!
