Ulster Rugby is to launch a Business Club for 80 businesses that are investing in support of rugby in Ulster.  The Club will officially come into being at a breakfast meeting in the Premium Stand at Ravenhill on August 2nd.
The Business Club is being introduced to pay attention to the businesses, from within Ulster and further afield, which continually invest in Ulster Rugby year on year. They include a mixture of sponsors, suppliers, box holders, and premium season ticket holders.
The membership comprises a range of businesses from SME’s right through to some of Ulster’s largest companies. Presently there are 80 businesses which have qualified for free membership into the Business Club, all of which have been invited to the inaugural event.
Rugby in Ireland has always benefitted to a degree from former players having forged careers in business and being willing to ‘give something back’ when in a position to do so.  This initiative shows an understanding of the importance of networking as an element of support for sport.  The success of the provinces in major European competition, as well as the presence in Dublin in 2013 of the Heineken Cup and Amlin Cup finals also make it an attractive sport for business sponsors.
There is a Rugby Business Networking event at Lansdowne Rugby Club on September 11th, organised by the Rugby Business Network on Linked In, and featuring Shane Byrne as a guest speaker.
