GAA Director General Tom Ryan will today publish his first annual report since taking over as Director General in 2018.
We will have a full report tomorrow on what he says on a wide variety of subjects across the biggest social movement and sport in the country.
GAA President John Horan teed up a number of them in a one hour session addressing the Seanad yesterday and today there will be an opportunity for both men to engage with media and dive a little deeper on likely motions going to next month’s GAA Congress, on the state of the games at the moment, on closer collaboration with Ladies Football and Camogie, on media rights, on investment in facilities, on opening those facilities to other sports and so much more.
It has been something of a baptiem of fire for Ryan with the new formats of the All Ireland Champinship kicking in, the Liam Miller and newbridge or Nowhere controversies rising and having to be handled.
He did so with a calm profesionalism and it is likely that today’s report will be measured in tone and carefully presented.
