The Republic of Ireland Women’s team trained at Johnstown House yesterday wearing new training gear bearing the 20X20 logo.
Team Sponsors Three are one of the five main sponsors that have brought the campaign to life and have given over the back of the training shirts to the campaign that aims to increase attendance, participation and media coverage of Women’s Sport by 20 percent by the end of next year.
The campaign featured prominently at Half Time in Croke Park for the semi-final of the Men’s All Ireland Football Championship earlier this month and will be evident when the Republic of Ireland host Montenegro at Tallaght Stadium next Tuesday night.
This game is the first step on the road to qualification fo the Euro 2021 Championships, the finals of which will be held in England in two years time.
The Republic of Ireland has yet to qualify for a Major Finals but there are high hopes that this will change this time around.
The game will be televised live on RTÉ but there are hopes that there will be a record crowd in support of the team, inspired by the coverage of the FIFA Women’s World cup earlier in the summer.
