The Asian Games of the GAA will take place in Kuala Lumpur on November 9th and 10th with teams taking part from across the region.
The Games were launched yesterday at Croke Park with Jack McCaffrey from Dublin and Sinéad Burke from Galway providing a dash of media attraction.
Currency Fair are the headline sponsors for this year’s games. The company has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as Dublin, London and Australia and is listed as a Gold Partner of the Asian County Board.
This will be the 24th year of the Games which last year were held in Bangkok and attracted 65 teams from 20 clubs across 18 countries.
They played 182 games over the two games and in a peculiarly Irish twist the ultimate Champions proved to be from South Africa.
The sponsors will be pleased this morning with McCaffrey in particular pictured and quoted extensively across the mainstream media.
