The GAA, Camogie Association and the LGFA have published updated Return to Play protocols that cover all forms of Gaelic Games. It will mean a return to light training at the end of June and to full contact by July 20th, subject to continued positive public health indicators.

Club competitions across all codes and age groups are scheduled to start from July 31st

The protocols run to 15 pages and are comprehensive in their addressing the role of players, officials and clubs. They have been built in consultation with medical experts and with input from the Gaelic Players Association and the WGPA.

There will be online education modules that will have to be completed and self-assessment health questionnaires and temperature checks on all players coming back into training.

It is lengthy and detailed which is exactly what is needed.

The return to matches over the summer is at the optimistic end of expectation.

We will have more on this and reaction over the weekend.
