We may be still in preparation for Tokyo but later today, the line up of events for the Paris Olympic Games will be unveiled.

20 of the 27 sporting bodies that have events at the Olympics are proposing changes to formats and/or event types and it is expected that two new sports will be added on a trial basis, those of Parkour and Breaking.

Parkour is a form of urban running, jumping and vaulting over different obstacles, while Breaking is a competitive form of break dancing. Both are clearly being considered with you audiences in mind and it is seen as likely that they will replace Baseball / Softball and Karate which are the two trial events taking place in Tokyo.

a 90-minute version of Modern Pentathlon has been proposed along with a head to head form of Slalom Canor racing and a Cross Country race in Athletics for the first time in 100 years.

esports will be featured in some events in the run up to the Paris Games ahead of likely inclusion in Los Angeles for 2028.

More traditional sports including Squash have found it harder to gain traction for their inclusion in the showcase event for all sports, with campaigns to be included in each of London, Rio, Tokyo and Paris all coming up short.

The line up of events to be included in Paris will be announced later today and we will have coverage of the line up on Sport for Business tomorrow morning.
