Team Ireland partner and job site, Indeed, has revealed a mural of local Olympic Rower, Sanita Puspure, in Cork City.

The mural, located on Victoria Road, aims to encourage everyone in Cork to get behind their local Team Ireland athletes and show support in what has been the most difficult lead up to an Olympic Games to date.

This is the third mural to be unveiled following on from those of Gymnast Rhys McClenaghan on Camden Row in Dublin and Natalya Coyle on Essex Street.

“It has been a long journey to Tokyo 2020 and I couldn’t have done it without the support from my family and the Cork community,” said Puspure.

“It’s an honour to be representing Ireland at the Tokyo Olympics and Indeed have made it even more special by creating this mural and displaying it in my hometown of Cork City. I’m determined to do my absolute best and do my family and country proud.”

The large-scale public artwork series is a colourful expression of Irish creativity and sporting success, amplifying the importance of our nation’s athletes. The artist created an appearance of being in continual flux, alive with the energy of movement, colour and balance to harness the Team Ireland athletes unleashing their talent. Indeed commissioned Subset to produce the murals which were designed and created by Irish artist,

“Cork has a long history of producing great Olympians and that’s certainly the case with Sanita,” said Daniel Corcoran, Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Indeed. She’s a proud Cork woman and we’ve seen first-hand just how hard she has worked to get to Tokyo. We hope this mural reflects just how proud the people of Cork are of her in return.”

“The postponement and unknown of the Games has made it an exceptionally difficult year for our elite athletes who dedicate their lives to their chosen sport and have had to mentally prepare for the biggest competition in their sporting careers. We are all rooting for the entire Team Ireland squad, and can’t wait to see them unleash their talent on the global stage.”
