As the final countdown gets underway to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, we met up with perhaps the greatest Paralympian of them all, five-time Gold medalist Jason Smyth and first-time competitor Mary Fitzgerald ahead of their flight out.
Jason tells us how things are different now to when he was preparing for his first Games in Beijing all of 13 years ago.
Mary shares the excitement of travelling to her first Paralympics and how a new personal best over the weekend has put her in contention for a medal.
She’s half Kilkenny and half Cork so there was a bit of chat about hurling as well…
Join us over the coming days as we continue our build-up to the Games, backed by Allianz, with interviews with Team Ireland Chef de Mission Neasa Russell, Colin Armstrong from the Communications team who will be sharing content back from Tokyo and with Rob McEvoy on how Allianz is supporting not only Team Ireland but the International Paralympic Council.
