Ellen Keane has secured Gold for herself and for Ireland at the Paralympic Games.
She swam a powerful second half of the S8 100 Metres Breaststroke to overcome New Zealand’s Sylvie Pascoe and upgrade Bronze from Rio to Gold in Tokyo.
We have had the pleasure to work with Ellen on a number of occasions and there are few of our athletes that present such a positive vision of what sport can achieve.
Alongside Kellie Harrington, she has put in years of effort and energy into reaching this point and now joins a pantheon of Irish Paralympic Gold Medallists that have raised the spirit of the nation.
This is her fourth Games having competed in Beijing in 2008 as a 13-year-old.
This morning she has recorded one of the sporting highlights of the year.
Well done Ellen
