On November 12th the latest elements of the Alcohol Bill introduced in 2018 come into effect.

They mean that the ways in which alcohol brands can be promoted at the Aviva Stadium for the Ireland Rugby International on Saturday 13th against the All Blacks will be materially different to how they can be 48 hours beforehand at the Republic of Ireland football international against Portugal.

This Friday morning we will gather a group of Sport for Business members to discuss the changes, to explore how they might be policed, what the penalties for breaking them will be and how they move Ireland closer to France in terms of the promotion of alcohol.

What will they mean for the first round of games in the Heineken Cup, what will be the likely approach and reaction to the kind of alibi marketing that has been implemented in other jurisdictions.

There is a limited number of places available so that all those who attend can have the opportunity to engage with their peers.

Details of how to join us for what will still, for now, be a virtual event, will be sent on Thursday afternoon to those who are attending on Friday morning.

The session will be for those members in attendance with only a short precis of the discussion shared with our wider membership.

This session is now full with a very strong group from across the network. We will publish details of our next Check-in Events shortly.
