Roisín Upton was a star of the Irish Women’s Hockey team on their journey to the World Cup Final in 2018.
Then she played with an unknown broken wrist to help the team qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
She was a key part of the team that qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Italy in October and in the meantime she went back to her day job of teaching in the midst of still more Covid complications.
A busy life then but not so much so to turn down an invitation to be an ambassador for this year’s AIB Goal Mile.
She dropped by for a chat on today’s Sport for Business Daily and I hope you’ll agree that she is one of the most easy-going and pleasant of our many sporting stars.
