The Olympic Federation of Ireland has opened up a unique opportunity for two individuals to be based with Team Ireland in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games and assist with administrative, linguistic and operational support.
The games will take place next year between the 26th of July and the 11th of August and there will be other occasions where the volunteers will be involved in advance of that both in Ireland and in France.
The deadline to be considered for the role of a Team Ireland specific assistant is the 16th of January 2023, with interviews taking place on the week commencing 23rd January 2023. These volunteers will also be part of the wider volunteer network operated by the Paris 2024 organising committee, details and applications for which will open up later this year.
“This is a really unique opportunity for individuals to be at the heart of Team Ireland during what will be a really special games,” said Team Ireland Chef de Mission for Paris 2024, Gavin Noble.
“At the Olympics, the National Olympic Committee Assistants are very much part of the team, and spend the days in the Olympic Village, assisting our staff and team across a range of areas.”
“This is ideally suited to individuals who have a good understanding of sport and the athlete’s needs, who have an element of fluency in French, are organised, personable, work well under pressure, and who are interested in exploring an opportunity to work in a fast moving sports environment.”
The following eligibility criteria apply to all volunteers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including these roles:
• Be at least 18 years old on 1 January 2024.
• Be available for a minimum of 10 working days.
• Pass the volunteer selection process
Team Ireland Assistants will be paid a daily Games volunteer rate.
