The British and Irish Lions have revealed an updated badge which will be used on all marketing material, merchandise and kit for the tour to Australia in 2025.
Yellow has become Gold and while the structure of the badge remains as it was previously, and has largely been for 100 years, the Irish and Scottish logos have been given a more contemporary look, closer to the way in which each of the Unions represents themselves.
You can see the changes in the new badge on the left above and compare them to the old badge on the right.
This is the last Lions cycle which will have a full two-year build-up with the new international competition featuring teams playing each other across hemispheres in the July and November windows being introduced in 2026.
There is already talk about Andy Farrell taking on the coaching of the Lions team for this tour in parallel to his responsibilities as the Ireland Head Coach but this may be just chatter in the post-World Cup vacuum.
The World Rugby XV named coming out of the World Cup had five Irish internationals – Bundee Aki, Tadhg Furlong, Garry Ringrose, Caelen Doris and Dan Sheehan but none from any of the other four unions that make up the Lions.
