Murray’s Bar in Dublin will undergo a transformation this evening into a Carlsberg 0.0 supporters club.
Fans of Chelsea and Liverpool will enjoy an immersive experience, with an emphasis on celebrating the numerous 0-0 draws between these iconic football clubs, as the clashes between Liverpool FC and Chelsea have resulted in the most nil-all draws of any two teams in Premier League history.
Hosted by Balls.ie, a panel discussion featuring Bruce Grobbelaar and Gus Poyet promises to offer unique insights and perspectives on the upcoming blockbuster clash as well as their thoughts on the history of the remarkable number of 0-0 draws between both clubs.
Adding to the entertainment, competitions will be held throughout the night, providing fans with a unique opportunity to engage, participate, and be a part of the pre-match fervour.
Grobbelaar etched his name in Liverpool FC’s history books during an illustrious career which spanned from 1981 to 1994. The charismatic goalkeeper played a key role during a dominant era for the club, winning six league titles and the UEFA Champions League trophy.
Poyet too left an indelible mark on Chelsea during his stint from 1997 to 2001. Renowned for his midfield prowess, Poyet’s vision, and goal-scoring abilities played a crucial role in the club successes during a pivotal era, earning him a lasting place in the hearts of the Stamford Bridge faithful.
As an official partner of the FAI, Carlsberg 0.0 has come up with an imaginative way to promote itself.
Last year, it extended its support to the women’s game creating the “GIG” – Ireland’s first ever women’s only sports bar, albeit for one weekend only for the World Cup as well as creating a unique sand installation of support on Sydney’s Bondi Beach.
“We are delighted to host these two footballing legends today on behalf of Carlsberg 0.0, celebrating the rich history between both Carlsberg and Liverpool FC, and between these two clubs ahead of what promises to be closely contested match on Wednesday,” said Anne Zahan, Head of Beer at Diageo Ireland.
“Carlsberg has established itself as a strong partner of the Football Association of Ireland and is proud to support football across the entire island.”
“Having experienced the intensity of Liverpool FC vs. Chelsea fixtures first-hand, I’m looking forward to celebrating the history of the clubs and the rivalry which has produced some of the most exciting nil all draws ever played,” added Grobbelaar this afternoon.
“I look forward to some unique insights with fans as we build excitement for the upcoming clash on Wednesday.”
“It’s an honour for me to be here in Dublin today amongst such great fans of the game,” said Poyet.
“I’m looking forward to sharing some insights and memories alongside my old rival Bruce Grobbelaar. Nearly every head-to-head between Chelsea and Liverpool FC has been a truly unforgettable encounter, producing some great football. It is a pleasure to see this unique experience here today for the fans to enjoy.”
