The Irish Life Dublin Marathon has been awarded the Gold Prize in the Best of Europe category at the European Sponsorship Awards, one of the four main prizes and seven Highly Commended citations that Irish campaigns garnered at last nights event in the City of London.

This winning of the ‘Grand Prix’ is a measure of the way in which the partnership was conceived, executed, measured and pitched. Congratulations to the whole team of Sport for Business members involved. We will have a special feature on the Award on Sport for Business in the next couple of weeks.

They were joined in the champagne stakes by Londis for their sponsorship of Ireland’s Fittest Family in the Media category, Three Ireland for the City Stages campaign in Arts and Culture, Electric Ireland for a third year in the Sponsorship with Social Purpose category, and Just Eat in the Talent category for the Nutmeg content with interim Republic of Ireland football manager John O’Shea.  Let’s hope that is a sign of more wins to come.

Sport for Business Partners PwC and AIB won Highly Commended citations for their work in events with the Camogie Association and Media on the Home of the Year.

Fellow members SSE Airtricity joined them for their Pookie campaign as did SuperValu in both the Sponsorship with Social Purpose and Digital Channels categories, Guinness in Music and Just Eat in Content.

We were amongst the judges of the Best of Europe Award for a second year and it was humbling once more to see the quality of work being done across the sector and for Ireland once again to shine as a true world leader.  Well done to all who were shortlisted and especially those returning this morning laden with gongs.
