Swimming Session
Swim Ireland’s team had a last session at the Sport Ireland Campus on Saturday before packing their bags and heading to Paris.
The session was open to the public who turned up in strong numbers and were rewarded with a very popular autograph signing session after the swimming had been completed.
The Olympic swimming events get underway on Saturday, July 27th and run through until Sunday, August 4th.
The swimming will be held in Paris La Défense Arena. The venue regularly hosts performances from leading international artists, and during the Olympic Games it will play host to some of the most anticipated competitions on the Olympic programme, enjoyed by spectators lining out the 13km of stands.
Team Ireland will include twelve swimmers and two divers.
Village Life
Many of the 133 team members of Team Ireland will be staying at the heart of the Olympic Village in Paris.
We are standing out loud and proud.
The Irish presence at the Games is the result of a huge amount of hard work by a whole team of people, who won’t come home with their own medals but who will revel over the coming weeks in the knowledge of a job well done.
