John Terry is the fight ‘tooth and nail’ to clear his name against the charge of racism which has been brought against him by the Crown prosecution service in England.  The charge relates to an incident in the game against QPR in October when Terry was seen on TV confronting Anton Ferdinand.  A subsequent police investigation has found there is a case to answer.
Elsewhere Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is to appeal the eight match ban handed to him over comments made to Man United defender Patrice Evra.  Suarez is no stranger to controversy having deliberately handled the ball while representing Uruguay in the quarter final of the World Cup Finals in 2010.  That ultimately led to Ghana’s failure to become the first African nation to qualify for a semi final at the tournament.
In such a multicultural sport as the Barclays Premier League has become it is difficult to imagine how racism amongst teammates and players can be condoned.
