The Ireland Women’s National Team squad has been announced for their 2025 UEFA Nations League back-to-back games against Greece.
Head Coach Carla Ward will bring her squad to Heraklion for the first game on Friday, April 4th, ahead of hosting the same opponent in Tallaght Stadium on Tuesday, April 8th.
These will be the third and fourth games in Group 2 in League B as Ireland look to pick up maximum points following a loss away to Slovenia and a home win over Türkiye.
Louise Quinn, Tara O’Hanlon, Megan Connolly, Jamie Finn, Lily Agg and Jess Ziu were all unavailable for selection, while defender Chloe Mustaki and forward Saoirse Noonan are included for the first time since the 2023-24 UEFA Nations League campaign.
Shelbourne midfielder Aoibheann Clancy has been rewarded for an impressive start to the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division season. The Limerick native earned her only WNT appearance in November 2022. With Ruesha Littlejohn signing for Shamrock Rovers, two of Ireland’s five named midfielders are from the League of Ireland.
The squad will link up on Sunday, March 30th, to begin preparing for the two games with sessions in the FAI National Training Centre.
SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
The defeat against Slovenia was a real shock to the system and these games are, as a result, more important for the new regime of Carla Ward.
