It was a pleasure to host our third League of Ireland Business Breakfast in Dublin this morning, bringing the story of the domestic game to the financial Services Sector.
We gathered at the offices of Grant Thornton on City Quay to talk to leaders from within and around the League about the season about to kick off.
Tomás Quinn, CEO of Shelbourne FC, analyst and former Drogheda, St Pats and Cork City Manager Tim Clancy and Virgin Media Director of News and Sport Mick McCaffrey, joined me on the stage for nearly an hour of chat about where the League is now and where it is heading, the importance of visibility, and the burgeoning impact of the Academy system both on and off the field.
Bringing the story to an audience that is passionate in supporting sport but might not be as familiar with the story of the domestic game is really important
We could have gone on much longer, but the real world has to crash in every now and again, and this is a subject we will continue to champion and return to in person and on the pages and the airwaves of Sport for Business.
Representatives from the following organisations joined us for the discussion.
