The KPMG Women’s Irish Open has been named Tournament of the Year at the 2025 Ladies European Tour Awards in London, securing the honour for the second consecutive season following a vote of the LET players.
The award was announced yesterday at the annual LET Awards ceremony at The Buckinghamshire, with the back-to-back recognition underlining the event’s growing reputation as one of the standout tournaments on the Ladies European Tour calendar.
Voted for exclusively by the players themselves, the accolade reflects the overall experience delivered throughout tournament week, from course conditions and organisation to atmosphere and player engagement.
Since returning to the LET schedule in 2022, the KPMG Women’s Irish Open has built consistent momentum, raising standards year on year across every aspect of delivery.
The tournament is delivered by ForeFront Group alongside long-term title sponsor KPMG, in partnership with the Ladies European Tour, and has become known for combining elite competition with a festival-style environment.
World-class fields, enhanced course presentation, a vibrant fan village and record attendances have all contributed to the tournament’s popularity with both players and spectators.
That consistency has again been recognised by the LET membership, with the Tournament of the Year award widely regarded as one of the most meaningful honours on tour due to its player-led voting process.
KPMG ambassador Leona Maguire has previously described the event as having “a major championship feel to it”, pointing to the scale of the crowds, the quality of the course setup and the atmosphere generated throughout the week as key differentiators.
Tournament Director Simon Honan said the repeat recognition was both unexpected and deeply rewarding.
“I am shocked to be standing here again,” he said. “We’re blown away to win this award. We put our heart and souls into this tournament to make it the best week of the year and to have the support of the players in recognising us means everything. Thank you to our incredible team, the volunteers, partners and sponsors who make the event what it is.”
“The Tournament of the Year award reflects not only individual elements of the event, but the overall experience delivered to players across the week. Winning it in consecutive years highlights the professionalism and attention to detail behind the scenes, and reinforces the tournament’s status as one of the most respected and player-favoured stops on the Ladies European Tour.”
With the 2025 award secured, focus is already turning to the next edition of the championship. The 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open will take place at the K Club from August 27–30, with tickets now on sale via the official tournament website.
Having been involved as host of the KPMG Clubhouse Chats and indeed the presentation of the Trophy in each of the last four years, I can vouch for this team being one of the most professional and enjoyable to work with across the sporting landscape. Realy delighted to see them recognised in this fashion.
