Allianz Ireland has been announced as the new title club sponsor of Terenure College RFC’s men’s team for the 2026/27 season, extending the insurer’s presence across Irish sport into one of the country’s leading club rugby environments.

The agreement will see Allianz branding take pride of place on the Terenure men’s team jersey throughout the Energia All-Ireland League campaign.

The new jersey will make its competitive debut this Saturday, September 26th, when Terenure travel to Temple Hill to face Cork Constitution.

The partnership brings together two organisations with strong associations with Irish sport and community participation.

For Allianz, it further extends a sponsorship portfolio that already spans high-profile and grassroots sport, while for Terenure it brings a major national brand to a club that has established itself among the leading sides in the domestic game.

Founded in 1940, Terenure College RFC has progressed through the Irish league system to become one of the country’s strongest senior clubs, while maintaining a significant participation and community base around its Dublin 6W home.

The new agreement is intended to support both that wider club structure and the ambitions of the senior men’s team as it looks to build on recent success.

“We’re delighted to partner with Terenure College RFC,” said Mark Brennan, Head of Marketing at Allianz Ireland.

“Sport has a very important role to play in bringing people together and creating strong, connected communities, and clubs like Terenure are at the heart of that.”

“Terenure combines an impressive sporting tradition with a really strong community around the club, from its youngest players right through to the senior team.”

“For Allianz, this partnership sits naturally alongside the broader work we already do across Irish sport and communities. We’re looking forward to supporting the club and everyone involved with it over the season ahead.”

Brian Moroney, Head of Sponsorship at Terenure College RFC, said the association with Allianz was a strong fit with the club’s future direction.

“We are delighted to welcome Allianz as a partner of Terenure College RFC.”

“Allianz has a proud record of supporting sport, from grassroots programmes and the next generation of Irish athletes to its landmark partnership with rugby through Allianz Stadium.”

“This partnership is a fantastic affiliation for our club and strongly aligns with our values, our community and our ambition for the future. We are incredibly proud to have Allianz on board.”

Club President John Cadell added that the partnership would provide further momentum entering the new campaign.

“Having a partner like Allianz on board means a great deal to everyone at the club.”

“After the season we’ve just had, this support gives the squad and coaching team real momentum heading into 2026/27. We’re grateful to Allianz for backing us and excited about what we can achieve together.”

Sport for Business Perspective

The Energia All-Ireland League offers brands access to a combination not always available in elite professional sport: meaningful competition, strong local identity, substantial volunteer and supporter networks, and regular engagement with communities throughout the season.

For Allianz, the Terenure agreement also creates an interesting link between the top and bottom of the rugby sponsorship pyramid.

The company already has one of the most visible positions in World rugby through the naming rights partnership with Allianz Twickenham Stadium, while this deal places the brand directly into the weekly rhythms of the domestic club game.

That ability to operate across elite venues, grassroots participation and community sport has become an increasingly important feature of major sponsorship portfolios.

It adds to Allianz’s strong existing partnerships with the GAA, Olympic Federation of Ireland, Paralympics Ireland and indeed Sport for Business.

For Terenure, attracting a brand of Allianz’s scale is also a significant commercial endorsement of what leading AIL clubs can offer sponsors beyond simple jersey visibility.

The opportunity lies in activating through the wider club community, creating content and experiences around match days and using the connection with players, members, families and supporters to build something deeper than a traditional logo-led sponsorship.
