Basketball Ireland has agreed to a three-year partnership with Off The Ball, making the sports media platform the official media partner of the Domino’s Men’s and Women’s Super League and Division One.

The agreement adds another significant layer to Basketball Ireland’s expanding media ecosystem, alongside its broadcast relationship with TG4, live streaming of National League games through BITV and live scoring and statistics through the Swish All Hoops App.

Under the new partnership, Off The Ball will provide regular coverage of the domestic game across its radio, digital and social platforms.

A dedicated weekly “This Week in Irish Basketball” feature will form part of its radio output, alongside fixtures, results and live score updates during weekend programming.

Weekend coverage will conclude with a dedicated round-up of results and action from across the leagues.

Off The Ball will also provide on-the-ground coverage around the major dates in the domestic basketball calendar, including the Domino’s National Cup Finals and Domino’s Super League Playoff Finals.

The partnership will run across both the men’s and women’s game and cover the Super League and Division One competitions.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Basketball Ireland over the next three years,” said Off The Ball Managing Editor Michael McCarthy.

“Basketball is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports in the country, and we’re looking forward to giving it an even bigger platform across Off The Ball.”

“This partnership is a great opportunity to make basketball a more consistent part of the national sports conversation, and we’re excited to work with Basketball Ireland to support the continued growth and profile of the game across Ireland.”

Domino’s also welcomes the deal, as it holds title sponsorship rights across the four National League competitions.

“As proud title sponsors of the Men’s and Women’s Super League and Division One, we’re thrilled to see this media partnership,” said Domino’s Ireland Head of Marketing Eoin Corrigan.

“Off The Ball provide excellent sports coverage, and I’m looking forward to seeing them showcase Irish basketball.”

“Basketball is at the heart of communities across Ireland and Off The Ball will help illuminate this by telling the story of the game.”

Basketball Ireland Head of Communications, Media and Digital Nathaniel Cope said the agreement would complement the governing body’s existing broadcast and digital strategy.

“Basketball Ireland is delighted to welcome Off The Ball as the official media partner for the domestic game.”

“It complements our international and domestic broadcast partnership with TG4, along with the fact that every game from the National League is live on our dedicated streaming platform, BITV, while also being able to follow games and get the latest stats through the Swish All Hoops App.”

“Off The Ball is a respected voice on Irish sport and they’ll do an excellent job in highlighting all the thrills and spills that play out on the court week in and week out.”

“The growth of basketball over the last number of years has been huge, and this partnership will help raise the profile of the sport even more, engaging new and existing fans across the season.”

The Domino’s Men’s and Women’s Super Leagues tip off on October 3rd.

Opening weekend includes reigning men’s champions Ballincollig against Limerick Celtics in a Munster derby, while defending women’s champions Trinity Meteors host Career Decisions UCC Glanmire in a repeat of last season’s Playoff Final.

Sport for Business Perspective

This is a smart addition to Basketball Ireland’s media strategy because it does more than simply show games.

TG4 and BITV provide the live pictures, while Swish All Hoops delivers the data and statistics. Off The Ball brings regular discussion, analysis and storytelling into a broader sporting environment.

For a domestic league seeking to build profile, the challenge is not only getting coverage for finals or major occasions but becoming part of the weekly sporting conversation alongside football, rugby and Gaelic games.

A recurring radio slot, weekend score updates and regular social content can help establish that rhythm.

This also creates value for Domino’s. A title sponsorship becomes more powerful when the competition it backs has multiple media touchpoints through which fixtures, results, players and stories are repeatedly presented to supporters.

Building audience habits takes time, and the three-year agreement gives Basketball Ireland and Off The Ball an opportunity to develop formats and personalities rather than treating domestic basketball as an occasional addition to the schedule.

It also signals Basketball Ireland’s push to build a joined-up media proposition around the National League, combining free-to-air television, direct-to-consumer streaming, real-time data, and now a dedicated national sports media partner.
