ActivePix, a pioneering sports technology company dedicated to transforming race imagery for event participants, and a member of Sport for Business, has been named one of the top three finalists for The Big Pitch 2024, hosted by Propelor BIC.
This nomination places ActivePix among the most promising startups in Ireland and highlights the emerging impact of sports technology as it stands alongside medtech innovators like ArrayPatch Ltd and Genotrial.
Propeller BIC has a rich history of fostering entrepreneurship and growth for SMEs in Ireland. Its support, along with that of Local Enterprise Offices, has been instrumental in guiding startups from ideation through to investment and scale. The Big Pitch 2024 brings together innovators from diverse fields, underscoring the value of both medtech and sports tech to Ireland’s entrepreneurial landscape.
“We’re thrilled and honoured to be named a finalist for The Big Pitch 2024,” said Paddy Ryan, founder of ActivePix.
“For us to be recognised on the same platform as cutting-edge medtech companies is a testament to the growing role of sports technology in driving innovation and engaging communities.”
“Sports technology is more than a niche; it’s a vital component of the future of both physical engagement and digital experiences.”
“Standing shoulder to shoulder with Ireland’s brightest minds in medtech signals an exciting era for the industry and a new level of credibility for sports tech.”
ActivePix has brought innovation to the race photography and sports event sectors, enhancing the experience for participants through advanced digital solutions. The company will be powering the imagery for Ireland’s first Athletics Ireland officially licensed trail event, the Western Yards Last One Standing Backyard Ultra.
The Big Pitch 2024 final event will be a celebration of innovation, where both sports and medtech will be recognised for their role in Ireland’s thriving startup ecosystem. The final will take place on Tuesday 19th November at National Opera House in Wexford, with tickets available on Eventbrite.
