McGinley Aer LingusAer Lingus is making the most of its appointment of Paul McGinley as a brand ambassador as he gears up for next week’s Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

The latest of the Airline’s sale periods runs through until Monday 29th September, the day after the Cup reaches its conclusion in Scotland, and is targeted at US traffic between November and March.

McGinley spoke at the time of his appointment of having used the airline over his 23 year career to date and being proud as an Irishman to be associated with such a great brand in overseas markets.

The image above taken by Inpho’s Billy Stickland recreates the iconic image of the airline Captain with McGinley swapping out his cap for a different kind of hat.

Allianz also benefits from the exposure as its personal deal with him ensures the brand appears in close up images.

The opportunity for such brand associations will lessen over the three days of competition but both brands are doing well to build their association with a man who will be all over the media on both sides of the Atlantic during the course of the next 10 days.
