In the Women’s Premier League defending National Cup and Premier League Champions UL Huskies, will take on WIT Wildcats at 5pm. Meanwhile in the Men’s Premier League, reigning Champions, UL Eagles, face off with newcomers, Belfast Star, at 7.30pm.
Live coverage of both games gets underway at 4.45 with a feed direct from the Limerick Sports Arena. Among the players that will be taking part are Rachael Vanderwal (pictured in the headband) who took part in the London 2012 Olympics as part of the Great Britain team.
“Having Aertv at the game will definitely add to the atmosphere on the night, said UL Heagles Head Coach James Weldon. “It is a great opportunity for the women’s game and the players too. With family and friends dotted all over the world Aertv will bring the game right to their hands wherever they are. For one or two of the newer members of the squad, giving them the opportunity to play in front of cameras for the first time will be nice addition too.”
Aer TV is based in Dublin and offers online access to a range of existing channels such as RTE, TV3 and TG4 as well as additional exclusive programming in music, the arts and sport.
It enables you to watch TV on desktop, tablet or mobile and to stream unlimited content.
The Channel has an agreement with Basketball Ireland to cover a number of matches on its platform that would otherwise not be seen. It also works with other sports including hockey and badminton and is expanding the reach of those from across Ireland and around the world to experience live Irish sport.
This has clear benefits for clubs and sponsors in terms of a larger audience. A recent stream of Badminton from Baldoyle attracted 30,000 video streams from around the world and shows the scope of what is possible.
Aer TV’s Sports platform allows individual sports and clubs to access the platform at low cost and provide an opportunity for live streaming of niche events that might never justify traditional TV coverage but which are attractive within smaller communities and which can help bring visibility to a wider section of our rich sporting culture.
