The biggest weekend of the LGFA and Camogie club season has arrived, as communities across Ireland rally behind their teams for the AIB All-Ireland Ladies Football and Camogie Club Championship Finals.
Fourteen clubs, representing the heartbeat of Gaelic Games, will step onto the national stage in pursuit of glory, carrying with them the pride, passion and unwavering support of their parishes.
This weekend’s finalists embody everything the club game stands for: resilience, belonging, community pride, and a deep connection to place.
For AIB, now 35 years supporting the GAA Club Championships, 13 years backing Camogie, and in the second year of support for Ladies Football, these finals are the culmination of a season spent celebrating the “Moments of the Championship”, those unforgettable flashes of skill and spirit that are only possible because of the volunteers, families and supporters who stand behind every player.
The club player has also been central to the latest advertising campaign, which has to resonate with anyone who has stepped onto a sporting pitch at some point in their life.
“AIB’s commitment is hugely significant for the growth and visibility of the game,” said Orlaith Ryan, AIB Chief Customer Officer, reflecting on the journey to finals weekend.
“With thrilling contests across county and provincial championships this year, we are anticipating an unforgettable weekend. To all the teams, volunteers, families and communities, thank you for your dedication, and best of luck in the finals.”
Visibility for women’s Gaelic Games has never been greater. As reported by Sport for Business, TG4 will stream the AIB Ladies Football Club Finals on Saturday across the TG4 Player and YouTube channels around the world. The linear TV show is deferred until prime time on Saturday night which caused a stir in traditional media circles but the mix of coverage will be just as effective for those under the age of 30, enabling supporters at home and abroad to be part of the occasion.
Meanwhile, RTÉ’s live coverage of the senior and intermediate Camogie finals ensures that the speed, power and artistry of the sport are showcased to the widest possible domestic audience from Croke Park on Sunday.
The action in Croke Park will begin with a compelling senior Ladies Football final between Kilkerrin-Clonberne (Galway) and St Ergnat’s Moneyglass (Antrim).
The Galway champions, bidding for an extraordinary five-in-a-row, have become one of the great dynasties of the club game. Yet Moneyglass, in their first senior All-Ireland final, arrive driven by belief and momentum, aiming to carve out history for club and county.
In the intermediate decider, Caltra Cuans (Galway) and Knockbride (Cavan) meet after remarkable campaigns that showcased both resilience and attacking flair. The junior final brings together Cromane (Kerry) and Muckalee (Kilkenny)—the latter already recognised by AIB with the November “Moment of the Championship” following their historic breakthrough for Kilkenny LGFA.
The Camogie finals promise equal excitement. In the senior decider, Athenry (Galway) face St Finbarr’s (Cork), with both teams arriving in superb form. Athenry’s toppling of long-time Galway champions Sarsfields has set up a final rich with narrative, while the attacking influence of the Cahalane sisters makes St Finbarr’s formidable opponents.
“The AIB All-Ireland Camogie Club Finals represent the pinnacle of our club season,” said Brian Molloy, Uachtarán an Chumainn Camógaíochta. “These players have shown extraordinary commitment, and clubs are the heartbeat of Gaelic Games. To the teams, volunteers, families and communities who make this all possible—thank you. And thank you to AIB for their unwavering support.”
Across both codes, this weekend is a celebration of everything that makes Gaelic Games unique. The local stories, the lifelong bonds, and the sense of place that binds generations.
Speaking ahead of the weekend, Trina Murray, Uachtarán Cumann Peil Gael na mBan, captured that sentiment: “AIB’s continuing support is essential to the recognition and development of Ladies Football. The club championships have been outstanding this year, and we are anticipating a wonderful weekend. Best of luck to all involved.”
