As the 2025 GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship reaches its semi-final stage, AIB is marking a decade of partnership with the GAA County Championship during what has become one of the most unpredictable and compelling football seasons in years.

To help celebrate the moment, AIB has enlisted some of the biggest names in the game. Kevin Cassidy of Donegal, Trevor Giles of Meath, Stephen O’Neill of Tyrone, and Colm Cooper of Kerry will be seen and heard across the media in the coming days, as will John Galvin of Limerick and Johnny Doyle of Kildare, who are lending their voices ahead of Sunday’s Tailteann Cup Final.

2025 also marks AIB’s fourth year supporting the Tailteann Cup, which has grown in stature and delivered its own drama this season.

This year’s Championship has captured the imagination of supporters, thanks in large part to changes recommended by the Football Review Committee. These updates have helped usher in a more open and attacking style of play, and the results have spoken for themselves.

Historic moments have come thick and fast: Louth secured a first Leinster title in 68 years, while Meath stunned Galway in Croke Park — a feat last achieved back in 1970.

Donegal have led the charge offensively, racking up a remarkable 408 points in nine games. And in a sign of the times, Dublin have lost as many Championship games in 2025 as in the previous ten seasons combined, underscoring the Championship’s wide-open nature.

Blockbuster Semi-Finals Ahead

The first All-Ireland semi-final will see 2021 champions Tyrone renew hostilities with 2022 winners Kerry, marking their fourth semi-final clash in a decade.

Kerry reached this stage with a second-half surge that saw them overpower reigning champions Armagh by eight points, while Tyrone edged out Dublin thanks to a dramatic late run that included a crucial free from goalkeeper Niall Morgan.

In the second semi-final, Donegal, inspired by a trademark Jim McGuinness comeback, overcame Monaghan with a second-half blitz that turned a seven-point deficit into a six-point win. They now face a resurgent Meath, who reached their first semi-final since 2009 after a rollercoaster win over Galway that featured a vital goal from Matthew Costello to swing the momentum late on.

Tailteann Cup Final: Kildare and Limerick Set for Showdown

Sunday’s action begins with the Tailteann Cup Final, where Kildare and Limerick will look to claim their first title in the competition.

Both sides come into the decider unbeaten. Limerick produced a stirring semi-final comeback to beat Wicklow, while Kildare ended a five-game losing streak at Croke Park with a seven-point victory over Fermanagh.

Volunteer VIP Campaign Returns

In recognition of the unsung heroes of the GAA, AIB has relaunched its Volunteer VIP competition, offering volunteers a ‘money-can’t-buy’ behind-the-scenes experience at Croke Park ahead of the All-Ireland Football Final.

Winners will receive an exclusive tour and coveted match tickets, shining a spotlight on the people who give their time year-round at club and county level. The competition runs until Sunday, July 20th and reinforces AIB’s long-standing commitment to the grassroots of Gaelic Games.

“This has been a season full of drama, energy and unpredictability — one that has kept fans engaged and excited at every turn,” said Colin Hunmt, CEO of AIB.

“As we approach the final stages of another brilliant Championship, we want to recognise not just the players but also the community of volunteers who make this all possible.”

Jarlath Burns, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael echoed the sentiment saying
“The impact of this season’s new rules has been clear. We’ve seen more open contests, surprise results, and higher scores — and it’s resonated with fans across the country. Best of luck to all counties competing this weekend.”
